Compared to many calendar programs, Rainlendar stands
out. Typically, and by default when first installed,
this wonderfully customizable free desktop calendar
takes up only a few square inches of the desktop, with a
small, transparent calendar stacked on top of a pair of
boxes. One is labeled Events, the other, To Do. Hundreds
of skins are available to dramatically change its
appearance. You can even mix different skins when
configuring the look of your Rainlendar components. The
look of individual events can also be modified with
colors.
There are dozens of languages
in which you can run Rainlendar, and it supports
iCalendar standards, which means you should find it easy
to add events from another calendar. It doesn't strain
system resources, so you might choose to have more than
one Rainlendar calendar showing at the same time. A Web
search should turn up lots of skins and friendly hacks
cooked up by Rainlendar devotees...Rainlendar
